Ok, so I have a question. I have been reading each blog as they come out and I very much enjoy your stories. It is clear to me that this forum gives you a voice and I think wonderful for you to have found a place to do that. Anyway, back to the question. I have examined your latest quilt, and I am wondering whether you cut the water print fabric and inserted the dolphins, or if you cut out the bottom of the dolphin to match the water swirls? It looks like you hand-stiched blocks onto the quilt. Yes? For what little I know about quilting, I think this one is really cute. So, how does it work? What does the bag with the dolphins do? Is it for storing the quilt?
Thank you for your interest! The receiving blanket with the dolphins is made of flannel and I cut the water swirls to insert the dolphins. For the larger quilt, I found a Debbie Mumm designed cotton fabric that had a good design so I needed only to add the coordinating border, backing fabric and "prairie points" to make the quilt. The quilt itself was quilted by hand. The two items took one week to complete.
