A friend reminded me that today is an obscure holiday called Ark Day which celebrates the landing of Noah’s ark on dry ground after the flood. “How do we know that?” you ask. Because when they landed, Noah opened the ark and commanded the animals, “March forth!”
And just how does one celebrate Ark Day? By eating animal crackers (two by two), of course!

Who is Nana Laura?
I am Laura Jane Packham Ricks, a 61-year old divorced mother of six (Nathan, Eli, Jesse, Aaron, Hannah, and Isaac) and grandmother of six (Dallin, Mia, Avey, Kaitlyn, Carver, and Hakan). I am a special ed teachers' aide in elementary school and a library volunteer. I enjoy teaching, all types of sewing and needlework, gardening, cooking, writing, reading, and playing the piano.
