Love is a very powerful thing. It is easy to be afraid of that power, to shrink away from it because you don’t know how to handle it. It is also easy to want to control that power by trying to control the person in your life who has that kind of power over you. But controlling each other has no place in a loving relationship. Controlling is the response of insecurity and fear. Love’s power must be free in order to grow, it must be free to be effective.
